President’s Message

U.P. NON OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION IS A REGISTERED BODY RECOGNIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS, GOVT. OF U.P. Its main objective is the promotion of Non Olympic Sports (not included in the International Olympic Charter). This association also promotes Ancient, Folk, Traditional and also Rural sports and games. The purpose of promotion of such type of sports is to generate the spirit of sportsmanship in the rural community so that along with healthy entertainment, they can maintain sound mind and good health. Energy potential of the rural community has to harnessed to the optimum level so that they can contribute to nation building. Since it very inception, UPNOA has worked for revival of sports and games which in the recent past had lost their attraction and become to be considered outdated and obsolete.

Our purpose has been to promote the feeling of togetherness and harmony across all sections of society, irrespective of caste, colour, religion, sex etc. However we have been working in the direction that sports excluded from the Olympics be promoted to an extent that they get recognition by the International Olympic Committee. Our association has been patronizing about 70 types of Sports such as ¬– CHESS, CARROM, MULKHAMB, KUNG-FU, KITE FLYING, FITNESS BALL, ARM WRESTLING, ATYA-PATYA, BODY BUILDING, RUGBY etc. and as such our association is an UMBRELLA BODY for so many traditional as well as currently popular sports.

UPNOA has firm belief that in the rural areas, there is an abundance of talent which needs to tapped, trained, promoted and to be provided a platform to bring laurels to our country. Apart, we also intend to fill up the gap between the RURAL AND URBAN TALENT by providing infrastructure, facilities and opportunities. UPNOA is a unique organization for it caters to the needs of the neglected part of sports activities and also excluded areas. We have been connecting the participants to our culture, history and also nature.

Our Hon’ble P.M. has also in his broadcast “MAN KI BAAT”, emphasized the need of promoting TRADITIONAL & RURAL SPORTS under the FIT INDIA PROGRAMME.

Our resolve is: “संगच्छध्वं, संवदध्वं, संवो मनांसि जानताम्।”

“LET US MOVE TOGETHER, LET US COMMUNICATE TOGETHER, LET US HAVE A MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING”
